BIOGRAPHY

A Palestinian diplomat and writer born in Nablus. He served as a representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Rome and was a prominent cultural figure within the Palestinian community there. On 16 October 1972, he was assassinated in Rome by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, as part of a retaliatory campaign following the Munich operation.

DESCRIPTION

This collection includes personal and family photographs of Wael Zwaiter, along with images of him with friends in Italy, and from his participation in the "International Symposium for Palestine" held in Kuwait. It also documents the moment of his assassination and his funeral to his final resting place in Yarmouk refugee camp, in addition to newspaper clippings chronicling his political and cultural career.
