BIOGRAPHY

Omair Da'na is from Jerusalem. He started working as a newspaper seller when he was 6 years old after his father and three brothers were arrested by the British Occupation in the Palestine Great Rebellion 1936-39. He is a communist pioneer and politician who witnessed three different political phases. He died in 2016.

DESCRIPTION

The collection encompasses photographs of Omair Da'na and his family and photographs documenting his work as a newspaper seller in Jerusalem. It also encompasses several old Palestinian and Arabic magazines, including issues of the Egyptian al-Hadaf Magazine, an-Nil Magazine, the Shiite al-Ghari Magazine, Belady  Magazine, and Akhbar al-Donya Magazine, as well as documents related to Da'na, such as a record of his deposits in the Arab Nation Bank Ltd., rental and lease contract bonds, and a chequebook.
