BIOGRAPHY

The Association for the Development of Palestinian Camps (Inaash) was launched in 1968. It was established by Huguette al-Khoury with a group of Lebanese women who were determined to break the isolation of the Palestinian refugee camps and empower refugee women and help them by knitting wool to provide for their families after their husbands were prevented under the Lebanese Law from entering the labour market. Serene Husseini also contributed to transforming the Association into a workshop for Palestinian thobes and traditional embroideries in 1970.
