This collection belongs to the family of Nidal abu Aker in Dheisheh Palestinian refugee camp in Bethlehem. He is a Palestinian freedom fighter and journalist, and a member of the Popular Services Committee in the the camp. His brother, shaheed Mohammad abu Aker, was murdered several years after being wounded.

The Nidal abu Aker Collection consists of photographs documenting the daily life and social customs of families in Dheisheh Palestinian refugee camp in Bethlehem, photographs of the shaheed Mohammad abu Aker while receiving treatment before his murder, and others of national events and protests in Dheisheh Palestinian refugee camp. It also includes invitation cards to attend the memorial ceremony of the shaheed Mohammad for different years, letters from Israeli prisons in addition to notebooks for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) written inside prisons, explaining PFLP's internal and organizational structure.
