BIOGRAPHY

Mahmoud Shukair is a Palestinian writer who was born in Jabal Mukabber in Jerusalem in 1941. He served as Vice President of the Jordanian Writers Association and a member of the Association's administrative board between 1977 and 1987 and was a member of the Palestinian National Council. He was the editor-in-chief of several Arab newspapers and magazines, such as the Jerusalemite Attali'ah Newspaper, Dafater Thaqafiyya Magazine, Sawt al-Watan Magazine, and the Jerusalemite al-Jihad Newspaper. He also worked as editor of the Occupied Territories' affairs for the Jordanian al-Rai Newspaper between 1978 and 1980 and as a weekly article writer between 1991 and 1993.

DESCRIPTION

The Mahmoud Shukair Collection consists of his personal and family photographs and documents, which include his cards during his work as a teacher at the Jordanian Arab Institute. The collection documents his participation in the conference of the General Union of Arab Writers in Damascus in 1997, and includes his passport.
