Born in 1949, Abdel-Aleem Da'na is a former Palestinian prisoner from Hebron who spent more than 15 years in the Israeli Occupation prisons during the period from 1972 to 2012. As part of his terms of detention, Da'na served a period of ongoing detention from 1975 to 1985. He witnessed the establishment of Ansar 3 Prison (An-Naqab Prison) in the 1980s. He is interested in researching and writing about the experience of the Palestinian Prisoners Movement and is a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
show more show lessThis collection belongs to the Palestinian prisoner Abdel-Aleem Da'na. It features several prison notebooks, documents, and a photograph related to the history of the Palestinian Prisoners Movement. The collection items consist of what Da'na wrote during the term of his imprisonment in "Ansar 3" Prison in an-Naqab, in addition to the notebooks which he composed and kept while imprisoned in an-Naqab Prison, namely a notebook titled "Selections of Prison Poetry", another containing reports about the conditions in Israeli Occupation prisons and a third titled "Issues of Wheat 14", which highlights the conditions in the prisons. The collection items also consist of a certificate sealed by the International Committee of the Red Cross in the number of the times that Da'na was arrested.
