Hamza al-Aqrabawi is a Palestinian storyteller and researcher from the village of Aqraba, located in Nablus district. He is interested in collecting archives, especially those that express daily life in Palestine. He also organizes educational tours in the Palestinian land in order to link the popular heritage with geography and land.

DESCRIPTION

The Hamza al-Aqrabawi Collection contains more than 600 photographs and documents. The collection is divided into two parts. The first part is concerned with the history of daily life in the village of Aqraba, located in Nablus district, the owner's hometown, from the late nineteenth century until the 1990s. It includes a variety of debt books, Ottoman birth certificates, tax payment receipts, land deeds, letters, lists of the names of the Dereyyeh family, in addition to a set of records of the Imam and marriage registrar of the village, Saadeh Hasan Theeb, which includes marriage vouchers and Friday "Khutbas" (sermons). The second part of the collection contains photographs of the shaheed Yasir Khader, who was nicknamed Hamza al-Bahlawan.
