The International Convention for Women, Mexico, 1975
A photograph from the international women's convention in Mexico, in 1975. Where delegations from 133 countries participated in the convention, in addition to delegations from seven liberation movements, who attended as observing members. Among these was the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), which included members of the General Union of Women, headed by Issam Abd al-Hadi. This photograph was taken at the moment when Zionism was convicted, for the first time on an international level, and was being considered as an oppressing power against the development of women. This was presented by an exclusive decision stating "Helping Arab and Palestinian women in their fight against Zionism", and in the final declaration issued by the convention, in the name of Mexico, about women's equality and their contribution to development and peace.
