"Arabs and Israel", "Arabs Pledge Loyalty to Israel", Paper Clippings, The Jerusalem Post, 1948
Printed in English, this document features two paper clippings taken of The Jerusalem Post newspaper-previously known as "the Palestine Post". One of the clippings incloses a news bulletin regarding a meeting between an Arab delegation and the Minister of the Israeli Minorities Mr. B.Shitreet. As for the other clipping, it features a response from Elyas Kusa to this piece of news. Kusa, in his article, confirms that one of the people who were mong this delegation was George Muʿa-mar and someone notable from al-Khayyat family who had met with the minister and discussed several issues such as the consistent Israeli theft of the Arab possessions and dominance over the houses of Arabs, in addition to the Jewish occupation over the Absentee Property, as well as Arabs being detained by the Jewish Security bodies, and other issues concerning guarantees to re-claim the property back. Kusa confirms that within the absence of such guarantees the question of allegiance shall remain open. Attached with the clippings, Kusa's letter to the newspaper's editor seeking to publish his response.
