"Bloody Martial Law", a Paper Clipping, Al-Itihad Newspaper, August 1950
Printed in English and Arabic, this document features two paper clippings taken of Al-Itihad Newspaper and The Jerusalem Post-previously known as "the Palestine Post", both clippings were published on 6 August1950. Al-Itihad Newspaper's news piece confirms the shaheeddom of a female called Nusrah Hussain from Tamra after left burning to death as she wasn't transferred to receive medical help due to Martial law which didn't issue a travel permit. On the same day, The Jerusalem Post published a news piece on the critical situation of a group of animals entitled " Slow Torture: By Starvation" concerning sick animals at the Jerusalem Zoo due to lack of food.
