Printed on 20 November 1979, this document shows a statement by Palestinian women, the majority of whom are from Nablus, appealing to Bassam ash-Shaka'a, Mayor of Nablus, to end his hunger strike protesting the continued Israeli occupation forces' detention, in an effort to safeguard his life. They also called on the resigned Palestinian municipal leaders in protest of ash-Shaka'a's ongoing detention to continue their stance.
