The First Makeup Course for al-Jamila Wal Wahsh [Beauty and the Beast] at al-Hakawati Theatre in Jerusalem, 1992
This colour photograph was captured in 1992 during the first of three makeup courses for al-Jamila Wal Wahsh [Beauty and the Beast], a play produced by Ashtar Theatre. The courses went on for 3 years, the first held at al-Hakawati Theatre in Jerusalem with the supervision of Heike Bechtold, and the second and third held at al-Seraj Theatre (now referred to as al-Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque) and al-Ahliya School in Ramallah under the supervision of Diane Rietsch.
