"After ash-Shakʿa", an Article by Ian Black, 1979

Handwritten in Arabic, this 5-page document shows an article entitled "After ash-Shakʿa" by Ian Black, the then correspondent of the Post, about the impact of the reversing the decision to deport Bassam ash-Shakʿa in 1979. The article includes the expectations of Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the commander-in-chief of the West Bank at the time, that cancelling the deportation decision will lead Palestinians back to negotiations and he states that the united position of mayors does not indicate that Palestinians will return to negotiations despite the fact that there are a few outlaws, namely Elyas Fraij, the Mayor of Nablus, Fahd al-Qawasmi and Rashad ash-Shawa.
