"Honouring Bahjat abu Gharbiyya", a Speech by Bassam ash-Shakʿa
This two-page speech was handwritten in Arabic by Bassam ash-Shakʿa for a ceremony organized by the Writers Society honouring Bahjat abu Gharbiyya on his contributions during and post the 1948 Palestinian Nakba; the establishment of the PLO's Liberation Army in the mid-1960s; his role as a member of the PLO's Executive Committee; and the amendment of the diplomatic approach used in Arab and global platforms in the PLO on the account of the armed revolt, which ended with abu Gharbiyya's resignation from the Palestinian National Council.
