Attali'ah Newspaper, Issue No 340, September 6 1984

The three hundred and fortieth issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on September 6, 1984. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. A new plan for the construction of a military settlement base on the lands of Nablus. 2. A section entitled “The Chronicles of the West Bank and Gaza Strip” which includes the following “A Call for Ending Land Seizures,” “A Palestinian Resident is Released from Prison,” “The Closure of a Tiles Workshop,” “A New Schedule for Visits at Jnaid Prison,” “Land Appropriation for Security Purposes,” “The New Academic Year Starts in Gaza,” “Rafah with No Water,” “The Renewal of Home Arrest Orders for Several Palestinians.” 3. The families and relatives of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons join a sit-in at the Red Cross offices in Ramallah. The sit-in was organized by a group of women committees and associations. 4. An article by Bashir al-Barghuthy entitled “Necessary Actions before the Upcoming Session of the Palestine National Council.” 5. A new settlement campaign in Hebron to enclose the city from all directions. 6. A massive public campaign in Umm al-Fahm calling for the release of prisoners from Umm al-Fahm. 7. The Palestinian Medical Relief Society holds more free medical days in Palestinian villages. 8. A report on the debilitating recession that the markets of the West Bank suffer from.
