Attali'ah Newspaper, Issue 435, July 3 1986
The four hundred and thirty-fifth issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on July 3, 1986. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. The Higher Education Council retracts its decision to cut down the salaries of university employees. 2. A special Red Cross committee will visit Israel to inspect the conditions of Israeli prisons. 3. Hotel workers continue their protests against unfair dismissals and layoffs. 4. The policy of collective punishment imposed on the residents of Rafidia. 5. From the chronicles of the West Bank and Gaza Strip (Levelling of land continues in the Gaza Strip, bulldozing a street in Saʾir to build a road connecting an Israeli settlement with the main road, the residents of Shejaiya complain against the lack of services provided to them, Israeli intellectuals and journalists protest the decision of the military ruler to ban a woman from visiting her exiled husband in Jordan, Israeli authorities demolish one room of a Palestinian house, a Palestinian from Qabatiya is sentenced to home arrest, the water in Shejaiya is unsafe for drinking, seizure of commercial goods in Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp). 6. Unfair dismissals at the Islamic University of Gaza. 7. The residents of al-Midya protest the uprooting of trees in the village. 8. The Palestinian Writers' Union organizes a literary and artistic evening. 9. An article entitled “Thousands of Palestinian Families are Deprived of Living under One Roof… Israeli Sources Admit that Family Unification Requests have been Put on Hold”. 10. A memorial at the burial site of the shaheed Abdur-Rahim Mahmoud. 11. Women bodies and movements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory organise a sit-in at the offices of the Red Cross to protest the barbaric bombardment of Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. 12. An article on Arab workers in Israel. 13. 26 lawyers in Gaza receive licenses to practice law. 14. The Palestinian Medical Relief Society in Hebron and Nablus provide treatment to 347 patients. 15. The Palestinian Young Boysʾ Club organises a mass art festival in Ramallah and al-Bireh.
