The six hundred and ninety-third issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on June 13, 1991. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. More Israeli attempts to appoint the heads of municipal councils in Palestinian villages and cities. 2. A news report headlined “The Palestinian Village of Kafr Qaddum Carries On despite the Lack of Services and the Attacks of Vicious Neighbours.” 3. A statement issued by the General Federation of Trade Unions in the West Bank. 4. The Palestinian Medical Relief Society organizes a preventive health day at Al-Ram Kindergarten. 5. The expansion of Ma'ale Amos, a settlement to the southeast of Bethlehem built on the lands of Kisan and Tuqu'. 6. The Intifada Shuhadaʾ Bloc wins the student council elections at Bethlehem University. 7. Ramallah Friends Schools host a new educational conference. 8. Israeli Occupation Authorities double their efforts to prosecute wanted Palestinians. 9. The arrest of a worker from Al-Mazra'a ash-Sharqiya with two conflicting accounts of the reason behind the arrest. 10. The bus of the Society of Inʾash El-Usra is held for the sixth time. 11. Local news from Gaza “Rafah residents call on those with a conscience to put an end to the raids of Israeli soldiers, the demolition of a wall in Shejaiya neighbourhood under the pretext of young men throwing stones from behind it, Israeli soldiers cause a Palestinian woman to have a miscarriage after kicking her during a raid on her house, the elections of the Association of Accountants.” News from Nablus “Thieves are apprehended and stolen goods are returned to their owners, a festival held at Beita Mixed School with the participation of parents and teaching staff, three women scam many housewives in Nablus, closing the entrance of six villages in Nablus.” News from Hebron “A Palestinian woman has a miscarriage caused by tear gas, the Israeli Occupation Authorities order the closure of a shop in Hebron, the closure of Prince Mohammed School and students are forced to take their exams in other schools, a school student arrested during class for throwing stones.” News from the Jordan Valley area “A young man is deported to Jordan, several teachers are fired from their jobs, a student from Aqabat Jaber Camp is injured, the Municipality of Jericho abandons its responsibilities towards Al-khidaiwy neighbourhood.” News from Ramallah “Ten people from Beitin are detained, Al-Jib is still under curfew.” News from Bethlehem “A sit-in to protest demanding the payment of salaries, the rumours about police officers going back to work are dispelled.” 12. The lack of basic services in Duma village near Hebron. 13. El-Warsha Theatre Troupe perform their play “Abdullah al-Kabir” (The Great Abdullah) for the first time. 14. Two members of the Executive Committee: The PLO has the right to form the Palestinian delegation.
