A Video Documenting ASHTAR Theatre's Performance of "Mish Aref Min Wain ʾAballesh" in Nablus
This video clip documents the performance of "Mish Aref Min Wain ʾAballesh" [I Don't Know Where to Start], an ASHTAR Theatre play performed by a group of young men and women from Nablus Governorate and directed by Edward Muallem. The play revolves around the character of "Azmy", a university graduate in Media and Journalism who has been looking for a job since the day he graduated but has failed each time. As a result of this, Azmy spends most of his time at home or volunteering with local, non-governmental organizations. Azmy "refuses any job offer that does not relate to his university major. He possesses progressive thoughts and believes that voluntary work is extremely important" for building a democratic Palestinian society that is able to support itself. Azmy's beliefs put him into an awkward situation with his family and friends.
