A Video of ASHTAR Theatre's Performance of "Seeh Shisabah" Play
A video documenting the performance of "Seeh Shisabah", a forum play produced by ASHTAR Theatre about a fictional village whose people live on farming and agriculture, especially cultivating vegetables and selling it in Palestinian markets. However, the existence of permanent and moving checkpoints, which often confiscated the produce of the village's farmers and prevented the people from delivering their products to the central market support the work of middlemen and their exploitation and greed. Following the confiscation of the farmers' produce of cucumbers at an Israeli checkpoint, the people of the village resort to the head of the village council for solutions, the only solution being to go to abu Saleh. Abu Saleh, however, imposes his own rules and conditions on the people of the village. Abu Talid, a citizen of the village, objects against resorting to abu Saleh but with no use. The people of the village back down from organic cultivation for chemical cultivation by using fanadol to cut down their losses. This leads to the death of a citizen, leading abu Talid to revolt and try to save the people of his village from abu Saleh's chemicals by resorting to official departments and centres but with no response. As a result of this, he decides to migrate from the village to the city. Written by Edward Muallem. Directed by Iman Awn.
