A Video Featuring Actor Edward Muallem and Director Mojisola Adebayo during Rehearsals for "Hijara Wa Burtoqal" Play

A video clip featuring actor Edward Muallem and director Mojisola Adebayo during the rehearsals for "Hijara Wa Burtuqal" [Oranges and Stones], a play produced by ASHTAR Theatre. The play brings us back to in time to the first Jewish immigration to Palestine under the protection of the Balfour Declaration. This event is described through the story of a man who arrives at a woman's home, who lives happily in her land filled with crops of oranges, as a refugee coming from Europe post World War I. The man gradually attempts to take control of the woman's home and a dispute between them commences over seizing the property and its possessions in a manner that opens a discussion about the usurping of lands, occupation of space, falsification of history and culture, and obliteration of landmarks.
