A Video of ASHTAR Theatre's Performance of "Rihlet Rida"
A video clip documenting the performance of "Rihlat Rida" [The Journey of Rida], a play produced by ASHTAR Theatre as an adaptation of "Handala's Journey from Inattention to Vigilance" by Syrian writer Sa'dallah Wannous, published in 1978. The play tells the story of Rida, a good-hearted Arab citizen who is a believer of his fate in life. He is a loving husband and a traditional non-ambitious employee. Rida represents the perfect sacrifice to the steady regimes of oppression in their political and social forms, disguised under the surface of good intentions and democracy. Rida finds himself losing everything around him as a result of the corruption of such oppressive regimes. Directed by Muhammad Eid. Cast: Mo'ayyad Aude, Husan al-'Azza, Hanin Traibe, Emile Andre, 'Alaa' aby Ghraibe, and Firas Farah.
