Attali'ah Newspaper, Issue 835, March 17 1944

The eight hundred and thirty-fifth issue of Attali'ah Newspaper which was published on March 17, 1994. Bashir al-Barghuthy is the issueʾs editor-in-chief, and it was printed in Salah ad-Din Press in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The 12-page issue covers the following: 1. A shaheed in Hebron and the siege continues after the Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre. 2. Students, educators, and parents in Gaza call for showing consideration for Tawjihi students given the continued and recurring curfew. 3. A section on the two shuhadaʾ Fadi al-Isawi and Amjad Shahin. 4. New security measures in Hebron call for a curfew even during Eid. 5. A New York Times article “The Conditions of Palestinians have Become Difficult after the Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre”. 6. An article by Samih Muhsin entitled “The Assassination of Intellectuals: Until When?” 7. An article by Subhi Shahrur entitled “Transformations of the Arab Short Story”. 8. An article by Jamil Salhut entitled “Cultural Stagnation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory”. 9. An article entitled “The Facts Refute Rabinʾs Denial of Missing Palestinians… 17 Missing Persons from Beit Furik, Some of Them were Killed More than a Quarter-Century Ago and Their Bodies have yet to be Returned to Their Families”. 10. A letter from the family of a missing Palestinian from Silwan. 11. The Israeli occupation continues its policy of detaining and persecuting the deportees and released prisoners involved in Marj al-Zohour case. 12. An article on the Ansar III massacre. 13. An economic column by Dr Samir Abdullah entitled “I do not Foresee a Significant Change in the Investment Climate Given the Current Situation… The Customs Union with Israel Restricts the Palestinian Economy”. 14. A section entitled “Letters from the Jordan Valley” that includes news on the increasing number of thieves in Jericho, farmers in Jericho donate parts of their produce to the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees to aid Hebron, and the release of several Palestinian residents after paying their bail bonds. 15. A news article on Israeli settlement at the heart of Hebron. 16. An article by Abdul-Jawad Saleh entitled “A Popular Movement as an Alternative to Political Parties that Fail to Address Public Concerns.”
