The Background of the PFWAC Capital Projects (Before and During the Intifada)
Found in the Siham al-Barghuthy Collection and handwritten in Arabic, this document addresses the background of the Capital Projects of the Palestinian Federation of Women's Action Committees (before and during the Intifada). Before the Intifada, the goal of such projects was to help support, free, and empower women both financially and socially through providing them with work in sewing and wool factories. After the Intifada, the goal pivoted to include women in planning processes, providing job opportunities in other professional fields, and the formation of cooperative societies supervised and managed by women.
