A Report on the Ramallah Sewing Project
Found in the Siham al-Barghuthy Collection and written in English, this report addresses the Ramallah Sewing Project of the Palestinian Federation of Women's Action Committees. According to the report, the Factory's staff includes six workers, working days are six days, working hours are eight per day, and the wage is 50-100 JD per month. The primary produces the Project produces are track suits, boys underwear, t-shirts, and blouses the material of which is all purchased from Beit Jala and tends to be cheaper and of lower quality. The original idea of starting a PFWAC sewing project was conceived before the Intifada but it was only after the beginning of the Intifada that the proposal was submitted to a funding organization. The project was at the end funded by the German government which contributed 50,00 NIS in order to buy machinery.
