"A Statement on the Position of Muslims", by the Supreme Islamic Council, September 1929
Printed in Arabic on 19 November 1929 by Bayt al-Maqdis Press in Jerusalem, this document shows a bulletin titled "A Statement on the Position of Muslims", which the head of the Supreme Muslim Council sent to "The Times Newspaper" on 21 September 1929 for printing. Upon its refusal, the Council decided to publish it in the wake of the 1929 Buraq Uprising. In the bulletin, Hajj Amin al-Husseini clarifies the position of the Council and the Palestinians on the Uprising and expresses his and their rejection of the bias British Mandate authorities in favour of the Zionist narrative.
