The Continuation of the Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 4 December 1939
Handwritten, this archival item documents the continuation of the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Monday 4 December 1939, where he mentioned going along with his sister Millia and cousin Hanneh to the cemetery and scattered some flowers all over, he also described how he cried and grieved his wife, in this diary, Assakakini requested to be left alone. While in the second half of the diary, he wrote about some religious rituals to be conducted at his house; among which was to never enter or leave without gazing at the photograph of his wife both silently and solemnly, to never pass by her without a curtsy, book a day of the week to visit her grave and put some flowers, and to celebrate all her occasions; birthday, marriage anniversary, mothers' day, her grace, her perfection and death.
