Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 9 and 10 January 1940
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Tuesday 9 January 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, Abu Jamil as-Saleh visiting him that day to show him two letters, the first is to seek help with the Egyptian and the Iraqi Prime Ministers to stop the danger facing Palestine, while the second is addressed to the High Commissioner regarding the execution of the government's policies in accountability towards the Jews and being unjust to Arabs, Omar al-Anani visiting him in regards to speaking to Ibrahim Shehadeh to lower the school fees for his cousin Mahmoud al-Anani, going with his sister Milia to the family of Habib al-Khouri to offer condolences for the death of Yousef Boles, and receiving a letter from Mansour Fahmi.
