The Continuation of the Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 6 March 1940
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Wednesday 6 March 1940, where he mentioned George Khmayyes visiting him and Sakakini reading his "ath-Thekra (The Memory)" book to him, after which, Rajae al-Husseini and his wife came over. In the middle of the page, Sakakini wrote his diaries dated Thursday, 7 March 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, Kamal Ismail, Tawfiq at-Teibi, Ahmad Khalifeh, Adel Jaber and George Khmayyes visiting him and reading pieces of literature together, and in the evening, he was filled with sorrow. At the bottom of the page, Sakakini wrote his diaries dated Friday, 8 March 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, going to the Latin Monastery press to print his book titled "ath-Thekra (The Memory)" but the press monitor refused to print it, so he thought he better take it to the Anton Lorrence press.
