The Continuation of the Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 8 March 1940
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Friday 8 March 1940, where he was informed by the owner of the Anton Lorrence press of being able to print his book "ath-Thekra (The Memory)", he was visited by Omar as-Saleh, Jamil Shehabi, Saliba al-Jozi, Ahmad Khalifeh and Geroge Khmayyes during the day, and he went with Ahmad Khalifeh to visit Metri Farraj. In the middle of the page, Sakakini wrote his diaries dated Saturday, 8 March 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, and offering condolences to Zaki ad-Dajani after the death of his wife. At the bottom of the page, Sakakini wrote his diaries dated Sunday, 10 March 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia, Najla, Dumia and Hala to the cemetery and spreading flowers where they found Sari already there, and in the afternoon, their house was full of guests including Geroge Khmayyes.
