The Continuation of the Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, 3-10 October 1942
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini from 3 to 10 October 1942, where he continues that Taha Hussein promised to visit his house during his visit to Jerusalem, Dr Barnabas dying and his funeral being on Sunday, 4 October and Sakakini asking that his casket must be simple, made out of raw wood, as he hates nothing more than expensive painted caskets. At the bottom of the page, he wrote his diary dated Tuesday, 6 October 1942, as Taha Hussein visited him with Farid Shehadeh, and Awni Abdel-Hadi, Adel Jaber, Shalabi Jameel and Habib Khouri also came.
