Diaries of Khalil Sakakini, from 15 to 19 December 1941
Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini from Monday, 15 December, to Friday, 19 December 1941, mentioning the visit of Mitri Farraj with his wife, Rafeeq al-Husseini, Ahmad Khalifa, and his cousins Yacoub and Nada. Then Sakakini wrote a part of his diary on Saturday, 20 December 1941, mentioning the phone call and being invited by the Iraqi Council to meet the new consul where he met some prominent people including al-Sheikh Yacoub Azbaki and the judge Abdel-Hamid as-Sa'eh and discussed youth and ageing, and Sakakini stated that youth is joy and vibrance whereas ageing is disability and despair.
