The Via Dolorosa and the Okuhmu Arch in Jerusalem, a Photograph by Yousef al-Bina, the 1920s-1930s

Taken by Yousef al-Bina between the 1920s and the 1930s, this photograph shows Via Dolorosa Street in the Old City of Jerusalem, where the Okuhmu Arch and the beginning of the Uzbek (Bukhari) Zawia. It is noteworthy that the Via Dolorosa "the path of suffering" is the path that Jesus, peace be upon him, took from the moment he was sentenced to his crucifixion and execution, as Christians believe. The road has fourteen stages, each stage representing a chapter of the suffering of Christ, peace be upon him.
