A Photograph of Stages: 5th, 6th and 7th of Via Dolorosa Street in Jerusalem, by Yousef al-Bina, the 1920s -1930s
Taken by Yousef al-Bina, this photograph shows the 5th, 6th and 7th stages of Via Dolorosa Street in occupied Jerusalem Old City. It is noteworthy that Via Dolorosa Street "The path of suffering" is the path that Christ Jesus took from his moment of judgment to his crucifixion and execution, as Christians believe. The road has fourteen stages, and each stage represents a chapter of the suffering of Christ, in the fifth stage it is called Simon of Cyrene, in which Cyrene helped Christ and carried the cross with him, after which the sixth stage appears, which is called Veronica, wiping the face of Christ, where a woman named Veronica wiped the sweat of Jesus Christ, and in this path, there is the house of Saint Veronica and her tomb, and the seventh stage represents the stage of the fall of Christ for the second time.
