Handwritten, this archival item documents the diaries of Khalil Sakakini on Monday 26 August 1940, where he mentioned going with his sister Milia and his daughters Hala and Dumia to the cemetery and spreading flowers, seeing the situation of the prisoners taken by Australian soldiers and staying at the Roman Orthodox building on Mount Zion, then he mentioned that is was the day Dumia and Hala first took lessons in Quran with Amin Efendi al-Ansari.
