A Letter from the people of Sebastia to the High Commissioner

Handwritten, this document shows a letter from the people of Sebastia to the High Commissioner regarding a group of people coming to Sebastia to collect the Werko tax and tithe bills (taxes were imposed during the Ottoman era) with the knowledge of the Mukhtar Kamel al-Abed al-Hadi, and their grievances regarding the aforementioned group of people, who took two extra piasters on the owed value as well as forcing and threatening them to give them chicken, sheep, barley, milk, and tea for them and their horses.
