A Letter from Hisham Halawani to His Wife, 1979

Handwritten, this letter is by Hisham Halawani at Ramle Prison to his wife Waela and son Helmi at as-Sowana Neighbourhood in Jerusalem on 21 May 1979, where he wrote expressing his pleasure at his wife's visit to him, asked her to be patient and hopeful, that he hopes that it will be a few months and that he will be released from prison after more than 4 years have passed, and how his view of life has changed during this period, then he stressed that he does not feel regret for the time that passed in prison, where this experience added to his knowledge and changed his concept of this life. He also asked Waela to take care of her education and to read many new and useful books. On the second page, he asked about the news of all his family members and their conditions.
