Anwar Nusseibeh and Others, 1984
Taken in 1984, this photograph shows Anwar Zaki Nusseibeh wearing sunglasses, with a group of people where two men are holding a sheep on the threshold of the house in preparation for Nusseibeh to step over it as an old custom called “Stepping Over the Sheep”, in which the one sacrificing steps over the sheep before it is sacrificed. This photograph was taken in front of his house in Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood in Jerusalem, during his reception after returning from Hajj.
