Meeting Minutes for the Purpose of a Mission To Be Discussed by the Construction Committee of al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock Mosques, Cairo

Printed in Arabic, this archival item documents meeting minutes held in Cairo-Egypt for the purpose of a mission to which the Construction Committee of al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock Mosques came to attend and discuss, the minute's enclosed discussions by a delegation from Cairo-Egypt including Raef Yousif Nijim and Issam Awwad, they were greeted by Muhammad al-Kawthar Abed el-Qader who is the Supervisor of Muhammad Hasan Attuhami’s Office (Vice of the Prime Minister and the Secretary of the Construction Committee of al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock Mosques).  In 27 July 1983 a meeting between the Vice of the Prime Minister and each of Muhammad al-Kawthar and members of the Higher Committee of the Architectural Engineering Office was held and inaugurated by welcoming the attendees and then discussed the topic of the restoration of Salah Eddin’s Pulpit following the incident of the burning of al-Aqsa Mosque on 21 August 1969, moreover, a set of meetings were agreed upon to draw the main lines of the pulpit’s restoration in the presence of Hussain Ashafie, Kamel Salah Eddin al-Kilani, Salah Ahmad al-Shawaribi, Muhammad al-Kawthar Abed el-Qader, Raef Yousif and Issam Awwad in addition to dividing the restoration process into levels starting from the drawings of the patterns to the materials which are to be used from wood, nacreous, ivory, silver threads, gemstones and safety products, afterwards, they have decided on the place to which shall host the reconstruction of Salah Eddin’s Pulpit which is Cairo-Egypt were machines and needed equipment is available and the artistic workers are to be chosen based on their professional experience, hence, the engineering committee shall choose the General Secretary to restore al-Aqsa Mosque and other sacred places in the city of Jerusalem and shall supervise the maintenance work along with experts in the field, as for the execution of the project, the General Secretary shall took all needed procedures for this purpose and the instalment of the pulpit it to be done by the Construction Committee of al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock Mosques to be later examined and manufactured at Dar El Sena'a in Cairo-Egypt and the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan shall finance the project and arrange this between one another.  A cost of approximately 2 Million USD’s is to be allocated for the launch of this project as per signed by the Construction Committee and the Higher Committee of the Architectural Engineering Office.
