The Testimony of a Military Prisoner at al-Zarqa Military Prisoner
Handwritten in Arabic and found in the Collection of Sari Nusseibeh, this archival item documents the testimony of a military prisoner who was arrested on 17 August 1963, questioned on the next day by the Investigator “Abed el-Karim Omar” on the allegations of “Nimer Awinat” saying he received letters from a prisoner and being continuously persecuted for several days by the investigation committee of "Abed el-Fattah Miflih" and "Miflih al-Quddah" and they were joined by the General Persecuter and Luitanent "Mahmmoud" together forming a new investigation committee. He also mentioned the committee's rejection to document the torture and hitting he faced in his testimony, then, he spoke of being held in the northern side of the prison between 17-26 1963 and being placed in solitary confinement in the eastern side of the prison No. 11 until 17 November 1963; whereas "Abed el-Karim Shanbak" put out his cigarette on his neck and face in front of "Miflih" and "Abed el-Karim Omar", moreover, he narrated the details of Abu Mussa's "Khalf Suliman" participation in his persecution's process; saying he lift his legs, collected the sticks and poured water, and to conclude he talked about the physicians' visit to when he was in the military hospital due to acute torture he was exposed to.
