Contract of Tenancy between Rida al-Saddar and Abdulfattah Ibraik, Nablus, 1961

Printed in 1961, this document shows a contract of tenancy between lessor Rida Dawood al-Saddar and tenant Abdulfattah Salim Ibraik from Nablus. The contract details the conditions of tenancy including the payment of fifty-five Jordanian dinars to be paid in cash; 27 JDs and five mils and the rest after five months, for a full year starting from 1 Muharram 1381 and ending on 30 Dhul-Hijjah; corresponding to 15 June 1961 and ending on 4 June 1962. Other conditions include that at the end of the lease term, the tenant is obliged to hand over the key to the landlord, and if he is late, he shall pay for each day a double rent until the premise is vacated and handed over back to the landlord- the tenant is not entitled to change the premise without the written permission of the landlord and is not allowed to lease the leased premise to another without obtaining the permission and consent of the landlord in writing.
