Tariq Abdulkarim's Speech at Poet Abdulrahim Mahmoud Centenary, al-Quds Open University

Handwritten in Arabic, this document shows Tariq Abdulkarim's speech he delivered at the 100th birth anniversary of poet Abdulrahim Mahmoud Centenary at al-Quds Open University. Born in 1913 in Anabta-Tulkarm, Mahmoud started his education in schools in Anabta before he continued in an-Najah School in Nablus. He was an excellent well-read student memorizing poetry and reading poets' collections and getting influenced by them, he then wrote poetry himself. After graduating from an-Najah School, he was appointed a teacher of the Arabic language for six years. He was also known for going at night with secret groups to attack British patrols.
