Dictation Notebook for Nayef Salim, 1946-47
Handwritten in Arabic by Nayef Salim in 1946, this document shows a dictation notebook, the cover of which bears his name (Nayef Saleh Salim), his grade (fifth grade), and the subject (Dictation). The notebook features an acknowledgement from Salim's teacher on his writing, in addition to a few written pieces titled "Fasl al-Kharif (Autumn)", "al-Shourouq (Sunrise)", "Soqout al-Matar (Rain Fall)", "Qisat al-Fallah (Farmer's Story)", a summary of "Kisra wa al-Fallah (Kisra and the Farmer)", "al-Tahawon (Negligence)", "Hal Tu'ahidny 'Ala al-Katheb (Do You Promise Me Lies)", "Sur'at al-Khater (Fast Goal)", "al-A'yad fi Biladina (Eids in Our Countries)", "Thaka' al-Ghurban (Wit of Crows)", "Nahr al-Nil (The Nile)", "al-Na'ama (The Ostrich)", "al-Fahem al-Hajary (Coal)", "Muthakara Yawmiya (A Diary)", "Risala li Sadeeq (A Letter to a Friend)", "Fasl al-Sayf (Summer)", "Hayat al-Qarya (Village Life)", "Hayat al-Tilmeth (Student Life)".
