The First Station of the Via Dolorosa, the Old City of Jerusalem, the 1920s
Taken in the 1920s, this photograph shows the first station of the Via Dolorosa in the old city of Jerusalem, that is the station in which the sentence of the crucifixion of Christ was pronounced, which is located in the Arc of Ecce homo area and the beginning of the Uzbek "Bukhari" corner. The "Way of Suffering" is the path that Jesus would have taken on the way to his crucifixion, consisting of fourteen stations, each representing a glimpse of his suffering.
