Taken in the 1920s, this photograph shows the fourth station of the Via Dolorosa in the old city of Jerusalem, which is called Christ meets his mother. The "Way of Suffering" is the path that Jesus Christ would have taken on the way to his crucifixion, consisting of fourteen stations, each representing a glimpse of his suffering.
