Issue 8601 of ad-Defa Newspaper, 15 May 1964
In its issue number 8601 dated 15 May 1964, ad-Defa Newspaper is a daily, political, news and illustrated newspaper founded in 1934 by Ibrahim Shanti in Jaffa, Sami Surouji from Hama and Khayr al-Din al-Zirikli from Beirut, while Shanti had the privilege and the title of editor-in-chief until 1949, as the privilege moved to his brother, Sadeq Shanti, and the newspaper was being issued in Jerusalem, while the manager was Nadim Elmeddin. Its front page included the publication of a telegram sent by Ahmed Shukeiri, the representative of Palestine in the Arab League, to King Hussein on the occasion of his return from his trip to the United States of America and other countries.
