Issue 7478 of ad-Defa Newspaper, 26 August 1960
In its issue number 8601 dated 26 August 1960, ad-Defa Newspaper is a daily, political, news and illustrated newspaper founded in 1934 by Ibrahim Shanti in Jaffa, Sami Surouji from Hama and Khayr al-Din al-Zirikli from Beirut, while Shanti had the privilege and the title of editor-in-chief until 1949, as the privilege moved to his brother, Sadeq Shanti, and the newspaper was being issued in Jerusalem, while the manager was Nadim Elmeddin. Its front page included that John Kennedy, the Democratic Party's candidate for the presidency of the United States, has stated that Israel is made to stay.
