Issue 7071 of ad-Defa Newspaper, 29 April 1959
In its issue number 7071 dated 29 April 1959, ad-Defa Newspaper is a daily, political, news and illustrated newspaper founded in 1934 by Ibrahim Shanti in Jaffa, Sami Surouji from Hama and Khayr al-Din al-Zirikli from Beirut, while Shanti had the privilege and the title of editor-in-chief until 1949, as the privilege moved to his brother, Sadeq Shanti, and the newspaper was being issued in Jerusalem, while the manager was Nadim Elmeddin. Its front page included that the UNRWA Minister of Education in Jordan decided to close schools on the next Saturday and Sunday from the date of this issue, in celebration of the King's return from his ten-day trip in Britain.
