Issue 2375 of Asharq al-Awsat Newspaper, 30 May 1985
Asharq al-Awsat newspaper, in its issue dated 30 May 1985, is a daily news newspaper of a general nature. It carried the slogan “The Arab International Newspaper” and was published in London in Arabic by the Saudi International Research and Marketing Company. It was established by the brothers Hisham and Mohammad Ali Hafeth in 1978, and Irfan Nizamuddin was its Editor in Chief. On its fifteenth page is the editor-in-chief's speech in the Black and White section titled "Important and Urgent: Helping Victims of the Camp War", where calls for the formation of an independent body to carry out urgent humanitarian missions from collecting donations and aid and delivering it directly to the affected Palestinians in the camps of Lebanon, especially the Sabra and Shatila camps, and Borj el-Brajneh.
