Afaf Hamadneh's Embroidery Drawing, Asira ash-Shamaliya-Nablus, 1960
Found in the Afaf Abderrahman Hasan Hamadneh Collection from Asira ash-Shamaliya-Nablus and dated 1960, this archival item shows an embroidery drawing for a school uniform collar pattern where Hamadneh drew the patterns on parchment paper for the designs of wedding dresses and veils, to be embroidered using a sewing machine. It is reported that she learned sewing in her early twenties in Hebron for three years.
