Issue 9 of al-Jadeed Magazine, September 1962
Issued by the Cooperative al-Ittihad Press in Haifa, issue no. 9 in September 1962 of the al-Jadeed magazine, which is a monthly magazine of intellect and modern national culture established in 1951, its first editor was Hanna Naqqara and its editor-in-chief was Antoine Shalhat. This issue included: 1. The talk of the month by the editor-in-chief, Saliba Khmayyes. 2. “Arabi Men as-Sawaed” (Arab from the Cranks), by poet M. 3. An article titled “A Glorious Page from the History of the Arab National Liberation Movement” by Emil Touma. 4. Poetry titled “Afkar Fil Wehda” (Thoughts on Loneliness) by Sameeh Qasem. 5. An article titled “The Crisis of the Modern Arab Poetry”. 6. An article titled “Your Groom is Coming” by Tawfiq Ziad. 7. The story “Passersby” by Naguib Mahfouz. 8. An article titled “Movement in Art”. 9. The story “The Last Letter” by Mohammad Khas. 10. An article by Kesaei titled “From the Arabian Heritage”. 11. The poem “Ain Hawd” (The Basin Eye) by Isam al-Abbasi. 12. A story titled “Warmth” by painter Abdessami. 13. An article titled “This Fate” by Salim Khouri in answer to the article of Ibn Khaldoun. 14. An interview with the Israeli folk dance pioneer. 15. An article regarding the last musical by the Rahbani brothers titled “The Rings Seller”. 16. The chapter on new readings in which an article by Naguib Mahfouz was published titled "The Crisis of the Modern Novel". 17. An article titled “With the United Arab Republican in Its Development and Issues”. 18. An explanation of the photograph of the al-Jadeed magazine cover.
